How should I prepare for the Re-Roofing of my house?

Here are some recommendations:

  • Interior – if you have any pictures that are not securely fastened to the wall etc… Be Safe – take them down and set them aside until construction is complete.
  • Driveway – it is very important that the driveway be clear on the day we tear off the roof, while we are roofing, and during our clean up after the roof is complete. The driveway will be blocked by the tear off vehicle, and material loading trucks, and clean off trucks.  It’s advisable to move your cars from the garage to make sure you are not blocked in especially on the first few days of the job. Also, if your garage is not sheet rocked your garage will get very dusty from the construction, keeping your car out will help keep it clean.
  • Attic – if you have some boxes or stored items stored in your attic that you do not want to get dirty or dusty, we recommend tarping over them for the tear off of the roof.
  • Grounds – we clean up every day, and a magnet is run on the job to clean up nails and staples, however, caution is still necessary until the completion of the project.
  • Pets – If you have a dog or other animal that may run away, make arrangements for the safety of your animals.
  • Permit folder – This will be outside your house for the inspector from the building department to sign off. Once the permit is signed off, you may take it inside. Keep the signed off permit and permit folder for your records.  We recommend putting the original contract and warranty information in the permit folder and keeping all the roofing information together for future reference.
  • Reminder – your house will be a construction site for the duration of the re-roof process. There will be debris, dust, and noise.  We thank you for your patience.
